Luan Krasniqi is a former professional boxer from Kosovo, who competed from 1999 to 2009. He was born on June 10, 1971, in Vushtrri, Yugoslavia (now Kosovo). During his career, he held the WBO International, European, and Intercontinental heavyweight titles.
Krasniqi started his career in amateur boxing in 1990 and won a bronze medal at the Balkan Boxing Championships in 1995. He turned professional in 1999 and won his debut fight against Jan Hrazdira. He then remained undefeated in his first 16 professional bouts, before suffering a loss to Lamon Brewster in 2001.
In 2004, Krasniqi won the WBO Intercontinental heavyweight title by defeating Owen Beck. He then won the WBO European and International heavyweight titles in 2006 and 2007 respectively. After 42 professional fights, Krasniqi retired from boxing in 2009 with a record of 30 wins (14 by knockout), 9 losses, and 3 draws.
Krasniqi is also known for his philanthropic work, particularly in helping children in Kosovo. He established the Luan Krasniqi Foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of children in his home country. In 2018, he was awarded the Order of Merit with Golden Star, one of Kosovo's highest honors, for his contributions to society.
